What's On at Newmarket Library

The Newmarket Library at The Guineas has a lot to offer and you can join for FREE.

Everyone is welcome! You can borrow CDs, DVDs, Wii and DS games for a small charge. You can also use the internet for FREE – either book in advance or pop in and see if there’s a PC free. There is also FREE wifi available.

Scrabble Group Scrabble group will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2pm from 2 August. 

Computer Training
One to one I.T. sessions are available and are tailored to your individual needs. Please see a member of staff if you are interested.

Sunday Activities for Children
The library holds FREE children’s craft sessions every Sunday between 11am and 3pm with a different theme each week.

Story Time
Story Time sessions are FREE and held every Saturday morning between 10am and 10.30am in the children’s library. These sessions are aimed at 2 to 8-year-olds.

Bookstart Sessions
The library runs Bookstart sessions on a weekly basis for pre-school children.

Babybounce – songs and nursery rhymes for babies on Tuesdays from 10am – 10.30am Tot Rock – music and songs for toddlers on Thursdays from 10am – 10.30am

Top Time
People can meet in the library and get involved in some varied events. Some weeks there will be a visiting speaker - otherwise our sessions are a chance to have a chat, play a game or take part in a quiz. They meet between 2.30pm and 3.30pm every Thursday afternoon. Please head to the library and leave your details with a member of staff if you would like to join.

Classified & Wanted Ads
Please see a member of staff if you would like to display an advertisement within the library. It costs £1 per month to display a poster.

Newmarket Reading Round
The Newmarket Reading Round meets on Friday afternoons to discuss short stories and poems. The group meets each week between 1pm and 3pm. A donation of £2 is appreciated and refreshments are provided.

Wall Space for Hire
Wall space is available within the library for exhibitions. The charge for this is £28 per month.
